Abstract: the
aims of this research were to reveal the studens’ self-concept, the
students’ self-concept, the students’
social interactions and to see the contribution of self-concept and
self-confidence toward the students’ social interaction. This research was
conducted by using quantitative method and path analysis approach with
combination model. The population of the research was all of students studyng
at SMAN 1 Barumun Kabupaten Padang Lawas registered in Academic Year 20013/2014
theat consisted of 517 people. By using Slovin formula, 226 studens were chosen
as the sample. The instrument of the research was a questionnaire. The data
gotten was analyzed by using descriptive technique and path analiysis. The
result of data analysis indicated that (1) the students’ self-concept was in
high category in wich their average score was 69,8 or 69,8%, (2) the students’
self confidence was in high category in wich their average score was 91,27 or
76,1%, (3) the students’ social interaction was in high category in wich their
average score was 101,13 or 77,79%, (4)
the self-concept contributed 19,4% toward
the social interaction, (5) the self-confidence contributed 21,9% toward the social interaction, (6) the
self-concept and self-confidence contributed
28% toward the social interaction, and (7) the self-concept from the
self-confidence contributed 2% toward
the social interaction.
