Abstract: This research is
based on the sociometry analysis in state senior high school students Binjai City, grade
XI students are still found isolated but have high
achievement. Then, the results from AUM in one of state
senior high school in Binjai City, found the toughest problems in the field of social relations in point
statement "does not have a close friend, limited social relationships". The
purpose of this study was to describe and verify differences need affiliation
need high and low achievement students. This study uses
a quantitative comparative descriptive type. This
experiment was conducted with population 1555 students and number of samples
are 294 students. Sampling was done by using purposive sampling technique.
The instrument used is a Likert Scale models. Data were analyzed by using percentage and to examine differences t
test using statistical methods through a computer program SPSS 19. The findings of this study indicate that: (1)
the needs for affiliation students high achievement in the medium category, (2) the needs for affiliation students underachieving in the high
category, and (3) analysis of the
results of the t test revealed there is significant difference between the
needs for affiliation students high achievement and underachieving students in
SMA City of Binjai. Implications of the research results
can be used as needs analysis and consideration student programming BK services
in SMA City of Binjai.
