Learning
motivation is an important role in the students learning process. Weneed
learning perseverance and learning tenacity to have strong learning motivation.
The indications were many students who have a weak learning motivation, so they
skipped school, they went out of the learning process, they penetrated and they
didn't do the work/homework. The factors cause the lack of student motivation
were the negative parents perceptions about education and the bad parents
attention. This study described, (1) the parents perception about education,
(2) the attention of parents, (3) students motivation, (4) the correlation of
parents perception about education with students motivation, (5) the
correlation of parents attention with students motivation, and (6) the
correlation of parents perception about education and parents attention with
students motivation.
This
study used descriptive correlational quantitative method. The population were
students of SMAN 1 Ulakan Tapakis who have studied in 2014/2015 (284 people).
The sample were 156 people, which had selected by Proportional Stratified
Random Sampling technique. The instrument used a questionnaire with the
reliability of 0.952 (parents perception about education), 0.888 (parents
attention), and 0.950 (students learning motivation). The validity of the
results of the average instrument parents perception about education was 0.685,
0.559 parents attention, and students learning motivation was 0.649. Data have
analyzed with descriptive statistics, simple linear regression and multiple
regression.
The research result show that, (1) the
parents perception about education are on the positive category, (2) the
parents attention are on good category, (3) students motivation are on the
strong category, (4) there are correlation of parents perception about
education with students learning motivation, (5) there are correlation of the
parents attention with students learning motivation, and (6) there are
correlation of parents perception about education and parents attention with
the students learning motivation.
