This study originated from research findings and
interviews with several people Master guidance and counseling in SMPN South Coastal District which revealed that the performance of

and counseling have not described a success
made in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, one of them in
implementing the guidance and counseling program in schools. The success of guidance
and counseling teacher performance can be
affected by external and internal factors. Some of these factors is the school
leadership and motivation. Therefore, researchers wanted
to describe: (1) the performance of guidance and counseling teachers, school
leadership, and motivation, (2) the contribution of school leadership on
guidance and counseling teacher performance, (3) contribution of work
motivation to the guidance and counseling teacher performance, and (4) the contribution of
school leadership and work motivation on guidance and counseling teacher
performance.
This study was quantitative research,
with correlational method. The population research were all counseling teachers
at SMPN South Pesisir Selatan District whose S.1 guidance and counseling
educational background totaling 48 people, the sample were 37 people were
selected by stratified random sampling technique. The instrument that was used
in this research was the Likert scale. Data were analyzed with simple
regression and multiple regression.
The findings showed
that: (1) in average, the performance of teachers' guidance and counseling are
in good category, the principal's leadership are in the category good enough,
and work motivation on high category, (2) there is contribution of school
leadership on teacher performance guidance and counseling 27% (R= 0.520.
significance 0.001), (3) contribution of work motivation on guidance and counseling
teacher performance amounted to 25.2% (R= 0.502, significance 0.002), and 4)
there is a contribution of school leadership and motivation to work together on
teacher performance guidance and counseling ere 36.7% (R= 0.606, significance
0.000). The study results
represent an input for guidance and counseling teacher, school leadership, in order to
further improve the school's head
of school leadership, and teachers further enhance employee motivation and performance in performing their duties and
responsibilities as a teacher

Penelitian ini berawal dari hasil
temuan penelitian dan wawancara dengan beberapa orang Guru BK yang ada di SMPN
Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan yang mengungkapkan bahwa kinerja Guru BK belum
menggambarkan suatu keberhasilan yang dilakukan dalam melaksanakan tugas dan
tanggung jawabnya, salah satunya dalam melaksanakan program BK di sekolah.
Keberhasilan kinerja Guru BK dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal dan
internal. Beberapa dari faktor tersebut ialah kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan
motivasi kerja, oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin
mendeskripsikan: (1) kinerja
Guru BK, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, dan motivasi kerja, (2) kontribusi
kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja Guru BK, (3) kontribusi motivasi
kerja terhadap kinerja Guru BK, dan (4) kontribusi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah
dan motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja Guru BK.
Penelitian
ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif, dengan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh Guru BK di SMPN Kabupaten
Pesisir Selatan yang berlatar pendidikan S1 BK
berjumlah 48 orang, sampel berjumlah 37 orang, yang dipilih dengan
teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala dengan
menggunakan model skala Likert. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan
menggunakan regresi linier sederhana dan regresi linier ganda.
Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan
bahwa: (1) secara rata-rata gambaran kinerja Guru BK berada pada kategori bagus,
kepemimpinan kepala sekolah
berada pada kategori cukup bagus, dan motivasi kerja berada pada kategori tinggi,
(2) terdapat kontribusi
kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja Guru BK sebesar 27% (R= 0.520.
signifikansi 0.001), (3) terdapat kontribusi motivasi kerja terhadap
kinerja Guru BK sebesar
25.2% (R= 0.502, signifikansi 0.002), dan (4) terdapat kontribusi
kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan motivasi kerja secara bersama-sama terhadap
kinerja Guru BK sebesar 36.7% (R= 0.606, signifikansi 0.000). Hasil penelitian ini merupakan
suatu masukan bagi Guru BK, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, agar kepala sekolah
lebih meningkatkan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, dan guru lebih meningkatkan
motivasi kerja serta kinerjanya dalam melakukan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya
sebagai Guru BK di sekolah.
