Hubungan Persepsi Siswa tentang Kepribadian Konselor dan Motivasi Siswa Mengikuti Konseling Perorangan di SMA Adabiah Padang

Pelayanan Bimbingan dan Konseling di sekolah memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan diri dan pengentasan permasalahan siswa. Salah satu jenis layanan yang dapat dilaksanakan Konselor di sekolah adalah layanan konseling perorangan.  Keberhasilan pelaksanaan konseling perorangan di sekolah dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor yang berasal dari kualitas Konselor. Siswa yang akan memanfaatkan konseling perorangan cenderung terlebih dahulu mempersepsi tentang kualitas kepribadian dan keterampilan Konselor. Motivasi siswa untuk mengikuti konseling perorangan secara sukarela dan terbuka dapat dipengaruhi oleh persepsinya tentang Konselor. Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa tentang kepribadian Konselor dan motivasi siswa mengikuti konseling perorangan. Penelitian juga berupaya untuk menguji hubungan persepsi siswa tentang kepribadian Konselor dan motivasi siswa mengikuti konseling perorangan.
Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis deskriptif korelasional. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap siswa SMA Adabiah Padang Tahun Pelajaran 2011/2012 dengan populasi sebanyak 1491 siswa. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 316 siswa dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket tertutup dengan mengunakan model skala Likert. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik persentase dan untuk menguji hubungan antara kedua variabel digunakan statistik parametrik yaitu Pearson Correlation.
Penelitian menjelaskan bahwa: (1) tingkat capaian responden mengenai persepsi siswa tentang kepribadian Konselor sebesar 73.6%, (2) tingkat capaian responden mengenai motivasi siswa mengikuti konseling perorangan sebesar 70.7%, dan (3) koefisien korelasi persepsi siswa tentang kepribadian Konselor dan motivasi siswa mengikuti konseling perorangan sebesar 0.547. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara umum persepsi siswa tentang kepribadian Konselor sedang, motivasi siswa mengikuti konseling perorangan sedang dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan positif antara persepsi siswa tentang kepribadian Konselor dan motivasi siswa mengikuti konseling perorangan.

The implementation of the Guidance and Counseling at the school is not running optimally. The students are reluctant to utilize various available services of aid because they have bad perception to the personalities of the Counselor. One of the main services of aid that is held in the form of individual, individual counseling, do not run well. Students are not motivated to take the advantage of individual counseling services within the framework of self-development and problem solving. In general, the purpose of this research is to describe students’ perception about personalities of counselor and students’ motivation to be active in the counseling. This research also determines the correlation between students’ perception about personalities of the counselor and students’ motivation to be active in the counseling.
This research use quantitative approach by descriptive method. The research conducted to the students of SMA Adabiah Padang in the period of 2011/2012 with the total of the population was 1491 students. Amount of research sample was 316 students and had been chosen by using simple random sampling technique. The instrument that had been used is close questionnaire by Likert Scale model. The research data have been analyzed by using percentage technique and in order to determine of correlation between both of variables had been used statistics parametric that is Pearson Correlation.
The research findings explained that: (1) respondent performance about the students’ perception to the personalities of counselor is 73.6%, (2) respondent performance about students’ motivation to be active on the counseling is 70.7% and (3) coefficient of correlation between the students’ perception to personalities of counselor and students’ motivation to be active in the counseling is 0.547. Thereby, it can be concluded that students’ perception about personality of counselor is in the middle and there is significant and positive correlation between the students‘s perception about personalities of counselor and students’ motivation to be active in the counseling.
